Project Check Mate: Nurse-Led Skin Checks in Regional/Rural Australia

Pragmatic evaluation of a nurse-led, multi-disciplinary early detection model across three pop-up clinics in regional/rural SA. 509 total body skin checks performed; 24% of consumers were above-average melanoma risk; 99% would use the service again. Demonstrates a scalable workforce model for under-serviced areas — regional/rural Australia is projected to account for 47% of melanoma incidence.

Mobile-Phone AI for Diagnosis of Pigmented Skin Lesions — Clinical Trial

Multicentre, prospective diagnostic trial (Australia & Austria) of mobile-phone-powered AI dermoscopy across 172 suspicious lesions (84 malignant) and 5,696 lesions in 66 high-risk patients. The 7-class AI algorithm was diagnostically equivalent to specialists (Δ accuracy 1.2%) and significantly superior to novice clinicians (Δ 21.5%). Real-world evidence that mobile AI dermoscopy — the same class of technology underpinning workplace screening — can match specialist accuracy at the point of care.
